The Transitional Cinema films are directed by a group of emerging Malaysian filmmakers - centralising their personal or collective stories on being in-between. It serves as a ground for experimentation and exploration with aesthetics and ways of telling stories.

Mickey Lai is a Malaysian screenplay writer and filmmaker. Her short film "The Cloud is Still There" (2020) was an official selection at the Busan Internation Film Festival and Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Her follow-up project "Washhh" was presented at "You Only Pitch Twice" under the Torino Short Film Film Market and developed at the Objectifs Short Film Incubator.
Victor Chen is a Malaysian director, screenplay writer and producer. He was the runner-up of HyppTV's, "I Want To Be A Filmmaker". His first short film "My Ba's Radio" (2016) had a special screening at Short Short Film Festival, Japan before winning Best Short Film at the Mantova Lovers' Film Festival, Italy. He is an alumnus of Platform Busan at the Busan International Film Festival 2018.
Andy Darrel Gomes is a Malaysian film & theatremaker, educator and actor. His writing credits include "My Ba's Radio" (2016) and "Hawa" (2016) which won Best short at the Mantova Lovers Film Festival, Italy and BMW Shorties respectively. As an actor, he appeared in "Ola Bola" (2016) and "Aqerat, We the Dead" (2017). He currently lectures at Sunway University.
