Malaysia underwent 3 major transition periods back to back. We elected a new government in 2018, the end of that, then thrusted immediately into the Movement Control order due to the pandemic. These periods birthed the phrases "New Malaysia" and "New Normal". 

 

Because cinema is always in response to the times, "Transitional Cinema" is conceived, inspired by William Bridges' ideas on Transition as a theoratical basis. The project aims to create 4 short films on being "in - between", directed by 4 emerging Malaysian filmmakers.
